PDTR is based on the concept of the neuromuscular reflex arc, which involves the interaction between muscles, nerves, and the brain. This technique takes a deep understanding of how the nervous system works and allows us to ensure that information being sent from the nerve endings around the body, known as receptors, are sending correct information to the brain.
The brain receives information from two main sources: our senses and our receptor system.
Our senses include smell, touch, taste and hearing, while our receptor system which is made up of nerve endings around the body that send information to the brain to keep it informed about what's going on. However, these receptors can become sensitized or overstimulated, even after an injury has healed, which can cause chronic pain and dysfunction.
The brain processes this information through past memories, emotions, and experiences to determine if there is any danger. If the brain senses a threat, it creates an output to protect you, often resulting in pain and weakness to change behaviour. PDTR helps to identify areas of dysfunction, reset reflexes, and restore balance to the neuromuscular system.
At the start of every session, we focus on your personal story. Why? Because each person's unique history and experiences provide valuable insight that helps us identify the root cause of your pain. After gathering this information, we conduct a comprehensive assessment of your body's reflexes through movement and muscle testing. This enables us to identify any underlying software issues that may be contributing to your discomfort. We then use a series of gentle manual techniques that are specifically tailored to your individual needs. Our goal is to restore proper communication between your nervous system and body in a pain-free and non-invasive manner.
During a PDTR session, our Chiropractor Steven will use movement assessments and muscle testing to gather information about any underlying software issues in the body. With PDTR, he can identify the proper stimuli required to restore normal function to the specific areas of the body that require attention. He will use gentle pressure or tapping techniques on these specific areas to stimulate the reflex arc and assess the body’s response. PDTR is capable of locating and restoring normal function to the receptors, neural pathways, the energetic system of the body, metabolism, emotions and even the brain.
Our Chiropractor, Steven, who happens to be one of the nine people in Sydney who have completed advanced modules of PDTR, comprehends the significance of a robust nervous system. As part of our all-inclusive strategy towards wellness, we are delighted to offer PDTR at our practice.
